Wilson’s Plover Exclosure Study

UGA graduate student Lauren Gingerella studied how exclosures increase nest success of Wilson’s Plovers on Little St. Simons Island. As part of this work she banded Wilson’s Plover chicks and monitored fledging success. She found that enclosures increased nest success, but in areas with high predation fledging success can still be low.
